Inspection Engineer (NDT)


About the role

Location: Turkmenistan (Full-time, Onshore).

We are recruiting an Inspection Engineer to support in-service inspection and integrity-related activities on oil & gas assets in Turkmenistan. The role requires strong hands-on inspection capability across static equipment, piping, structures, and lifting equipment, along with the ability to manage inspection planning, review technical deliverables, and coordinate inspection personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage inspection activities for in-service/live plant assets (planning, prioritization, execution support, and close-out)

  • Conduct and/or oversee internal and external inspections of:

    • Lifting equipment and cranes

    • Piping, pipelines, and risers

    • Structural components

    • Static and process plant equipment

  • Review and validate inspection findings, ensure quality of reporting, and issue technical recommendations

  • Review and approve inspection reports prepared by inspectors; ensure consistency of documentation and data quality

  • Review and comment on welding documentation (including WPS) and support fabrication/modification quality control where required

  • Coordinate NDT activities by selecting appropriate methods, understanding limitations, and ensuring correct application

  • Support coating/painting-related inspections and surface preparation awareness (blast cleaning, coating application methods)

  • Interpret engineering documentation (GA drawings, P&IDs, mechanical catalogues) and provide technical comments

  • Coordinate and supervise inspection personnel and organize work execution under operational timelines

Requirements

 

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Metallurgy / Materials (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 5 years experience in inspection activities for in-service/live plant oil & gas assets

  • Strong understanding of inspection planning and inspection management practices

  • Broad inspection exposure across lifting equipment, piping/pipelines, structures, and static equipment

  • Working knowledge of welding technology (metallurgy, processes) and ability to review welding documentation

  • Practical familiarity with NDT methods, applications, and limitations

  • Awareness of coating/painting inspection fundamentals and surface preparation/coating application methods

  • Good understanding of common international codes/standards used in oil & gas integrity and fabrication work

  • Ability to read and comment on engineering drawings (GA, P&ID, related mechanical drawings)

  • Strong technical reporting skills and ability to work independently under pressure

  • Leadership ability to coordinate and supervise inspectors

  • Good English (written and spoken)


Conditions

  • Resident position in Turkmenistan (full-time) with on-call readiness

  • Fixed monthly salary in USD

  • Visa/travel/accommodation/meals provided as per company policy

  • Home leave schedule to be agreed based on operational needs
