Welding Inspector

About the role

ES Depginli Adim is seeking a qualified Welding Inspector to support oil and gas projects in Turkmenistan, involving fabrication and installation activities at onshore and offshore facilities.


Position Overview:
The Welding Inspector will be responsible for performing quality control inspections during fabrication, repair, and installation work to ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes, and industry standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, procedures, and applicable international codes (IEC, ASME, API, AWS)

  • Conduct material inspection, verification, and traceability checks

  • Verify welding procedures (WPS) and welder qualifications (WPQ)

  • Witness Welding Procedure Qualification Tests and Welder Performance Qualification Tests

  • Perform welding inspection throughout all phases: preparation, in-process, and completion

  • Ensure full compliance with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) requirements

  • Conduct visual inspections and dimensional checks of fabricated assemblies

  • Witness integrity tests including hydrostatic testing and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT)

  • Review and approve radiographic and ultrasonic test results

  • Compile comprehensive inspection reports and maintain fabrication documentation

  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of all inspection tools and equipment

  • Participate in technical discussions and provide expert recommendations

  • Perform daily surveillance activities and prepare progress reports


Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:

  • Minimum Diploma or Vocational certification in a relevant engineering discipline

Certification:

  • CSWIP Level 3.1 or PCN WI Level 2 (must be current and valid)

  • UT ASNT Level II or RI Level II certification (advantage)

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of welding inspection experience in oil and gas fabrication projects

  • Offshore work experience is an advantage

Technical Competencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of international standards: ASME VIII & IX, ASME/ANSI B31.3, AWS D1.1, API 1104, API 510, API 570, API 650, API 653, ASTM

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and general arrangements

  • Expertise in reviewing welding and NDT procedures

  • Strong understanding of NDT methods, applications, and limitations

  • Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills

  • Strong command of the English language (written and spoken)

Mandatory:

  • Valid Turkmenistan Work Permit
